Nodshift

A company that builds impressive tech needed a site as technically impressive as the products they sell.

Custom software & AI firm. Bespoke design, six motion sequences, and 98/100/100/100 Lighthouse with animations active.

The brief behind the build.

Nodshift's ideal clients, CTOs and product leads, evaluate a development partner's website the same way they evaluate code: is it clean, is it considered, does it perform under scrutiny? A site that scrolls poorly, loads slowly, or animates sloppily signals that the team behind it doesn't hold itself to the standard it sells.

The motion design challenge was restraint. Engineers notice when an animation fires on every element with no hierarchy, when scroll-triggered reveals feel mechanical, when a counter animation stutters. Every animation had to feel inevitable, as if the content was always about to appear exactly when it does.

How we built it.

Explore the main parts of the build.

Scroll-triggered storytelling animations: six unique sequences

Hero word reveal, service card stagger, numbered sequence animation, tab switching with cross-fade, process timeline reveal, and a CSS marquee of client logos. Each uses consistent easing for a site-wide rhythm.

Scalable CMS: five collections, infinite content growth

Services, case studies, testimonials, client logos, and team: all CMS-driven. New content publishes without any developer involvement.

Six service pages: one template, each individually SEO'd

A single service page template accommodates different content depths. Canonical URLs, meta titles, and OG images are all CMS fields: the team updates SEO without touching code.

Client segment sections: four buyer types, one page

Digital agencies, service businesses, enterprise ops teams, and tech startups each have their own sub-narrative accessible through a tab system.

98/100/100/100 Lighthouse: animations included

AVIF images with WebP fallback. Lazy-loaded video embeds. Deferred non-critical scripts. CSS-native animations. Fast AND animated, not a trade-off.

The decisions behind the website.

The details that shaped the finished build.

  1. 01

    Colour system

Near-black with amber accent: technical but warm. Separates Nodshift from the sea of white SaaS sites. Two-colour discipline applied consistently across every page and CMS template.

  2. 02

    Hero animation

Staggered word reveal: BUILD. AUTOMATE. GROW. Each word enters separately with a tight stagger. The visitor reads all three words in order. Static copy at that size would make them skim.

  3. 03

    Service cards

Numbered 01/ through 06/ with staggered entrance. Six service areas enter staggered by index on scroll: the 01/ numbering animates in alongside each card, treating the services section as an assembly rather than a list.

  4. 04

    CMS architecture

Every service page uses the same Webflow template. Adding a new service means creating a CMS entry: the page, the navigation link, and the services listing all update automatically.

  5. 05

    Case studies

Named products: ScoutPro, HomeCleanse, WeInspect. Real product names on case study cards signal real delivery. Each case study has its own indexed page, not a lightbox.

  6. 06

    Performance

CSS-first animation: JavaScript only where native falls short. Every animation that could run in pure CSS does. The result: rich motion with minimal script weight, achieving 98 Lighthouse Performance with the full animation suite active.

What changed.

The most important thing a custom software company's website can do is prove that the team behind it cares about craft. Nodshift's site does that before a visitor reads a word, through the precision of the motion, the discipline of the performance scores, and the bespoke design language that signals this wasn't assembled from a template.

For a company selling to technical buyers who know what a good build looks like, the site itself is the first case study. A 98/100/100/100 Lighthouse score with storytelling animations active is a technical demonstration.

The site performed exactly how we needed it to. Fast, clean, and built in a way our team can actually manage. The animation work made the product story land in a way static content never could.
