CANAMA

A startup that won against the odds needed a site that showed it.

UAE's first premium canned water brand. A TV pitch finalist, 50,000 cans, and a site credited in the footer.

The brief behind the build.

CANAMA is competing with Voss, S.Pellegrino, and Evian: brands with decades of global equity. The only asymmetric advantage a UAE-born startup has is its story: local, sustainable, culturally rooted, and hard-won. The site had to make that advantage as visible and compelling as possible in the first ten seconds.

The founding timeline from 2017 to November 2025 is the homepage centrepiece. By the time a visitor reaches the product section, they understand not just what CANAMA is but what it took to get here. That context is what makes the premium positioning land.

How we built it.

Explore the main parts of the build.

Cinematic homepage with atmospheric UAE night palette

Full hero with desert starfield, moon photography, water splash asset, and staggered text reveals. Scroll animations across every section: each one paced to match the brand's measured, unhurried tone.

Founding timeline: scroll-triggered, year by year

The full CANAMA origin story from 2017 to November 2025 built as a scroll-triggered section. Each milestone enters in sequence, making the timeline feel like a story being told rather than a list being scanned.

360° can turntable video: embedded and lazy-loaded

A looping product turntable embedded in the page, lazy-loaded to avoid performance impact. The Meydan co-branded can rotates on a clean background.

Partnership section: three-tier with introduction form

Hospitality, Corporate, and Co-branding partner types, each described specifically. A form routed to partnerships@canama.ae. The section communicates selectivity without being exclusionary.

Fully responsive: atmospheric design adapted for every screen

The dark palette, starfields, parallax sections, and timeline all adapt to mobile and tablet. Nothing collapses awkwardly. CANAMA's hospitality partners review everything on their phones first.

The decisions behind the website.

The details that shaped the finished build.

  1. 01

    Hero section

Cinematic dark reveal from near-black: UAE night sky palette fading up behind product photography. Text reveals stagger over the fade. Something emerging from darkness into clarity.

  2. 02

    Founding timeline

Scroll-triggered milestone by milestone: 2017 through November 2025. Each milestone enters as the visitor scrolls. The pacing makes the founding story feel earned, not summarised.

  3. 03

    360° turntable

Looping product video of the Meydan co-branded can on a clean background. No narration. No overlay. The can rotates. The quality of the design is the entire message.

  4. 04

    CTA language

"Request an introduction", not "Contact us". Positions the brand as choosing its partners, not chasing orders. Repeated identically on every section.

  5. 05

    Partnership section

"By invitation or introduction": three partner types with specific language about who qualifies. The language does the positioning work so the design doesn't have to.

  6. 06

    Marquee ticker

"Plastic Is Optional. Responsibility Isn't." scrolls continuously, communicating the sustainability mission without occupying permanent layout space.

What changed.

CANAMA launched with a site that does what a founding story needs to do. It makes the premium positioning feel earned. A hospitality partner browsing canama.ae leaves feeling this is a brand they'd be proud to put on their tables.

The footer credits the build directly: "Website built by Waleed." That attribution was placed by the client without a request. The clearest signal that the quality of the work justified being associated with the brand.

We came to Waleed with a brand that had more story than proof. He built a site that made the story feel like the proof.
